This transistor-based stereo tone control allows both boosting and attenuation of low and high audio frequencies, unlike passive tone control circuits which provide attenuation only.
The circuit enables independent adjustment of bass and treble with a control range of up to ±20 dB. With the potentiometers set to their center positions, the overall gain is approximately unity, meaning the tone control does not affect the total sensitivity of the connected amplifier.
The tone control is suitable for integration into audio amplifiers and other low-frequency audio devices operating from a single supply voltage.
